This memorial website was created in loving memory of our son Brandon. Describing Brandon's life with words is like trying to whistle a Beethoven symphony. To know him was to experience his spontaneous humor, his impersonations, his compassion, and his love for music. He could transform ordinary experiences into mini celebrations of life. Each new day held the potential of discovering and creating occasions for laughter.
Brandon looked at the world through the lens of his heart. He was a natural harmonizer and was truly happiest when surrounded by friends. Whether playing the trumpet in band, jamming on drums in someone's garage, gaming as "grindmaster," or working on a church service project, Brandon loved being with others. He and his sister Ashley also shared a special friendship throughout the years.
Diagnosed with diabetes when he was only four years old, Brandon developed an early sensitivity to the feelings of others as well as a determination to live a normal life, so he treated others the way he wanted to be treated. He bore the mark of an authentic Christian - the capacity to love and be loved. His faith ran deep and he would sometimes talk about Christ's return and what that would be like.
Brandon celebrated his 17th birthday on June 14, 2006 and passed away suddenly of an unknown virus on August 12, 2006. In the grand scheme of eternity, the number of years we live holds little significance compared to the impact we make on the lives of others. Brandon was a shining light in this world, and he continues to make a difference through the gifts he permanently placed in our hearts.
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." I Cor. 2:9
We love you, Brandon. Mom & Dad
The song "Fellowship So Deep" was performed by some of Brandon's closest friends at his funeral service. A memorial CD was produced to benefit a scholarship in his name. See "His Legacy" for information.

19 Brandon Bears, With Love In honor of Brandon's birthday, bears were once again given to the Children's Advocacy Center. More hugs, more love.
18 Birthday Bears, In Loving Memory June 14, 2007 would have been Brandon's 18th birthday. Brandon was known for his big bear hugs, so in his honor eighteen very huggable bears were donated to the Children's Advocacy Center for abused and neglected children. We hope that others will continue to be blessed by those hugs.
